Event Wrap-Up (Week of 6/22/15)

An ongoing Crusade of Fire, our second Force Be with You Friday, and the debut of the Drawbridge Games’ Gaming Squires, made for another awesome week here at Drawbridge Games!

From the Mousillon Expedition blog: The second phase of the Crusade of Fire began as two separate strike carriers emerged in the system bearing the inverted omega of the Ultramarines. One Ultramarines force had a clash with Eldar from the Iyanden Craftworld, solidly defeating them in the name of the Crusade. The other force was a preliminary scouting expedition, and had a brief skirmish against some Adeptus Mechanicum forces when trying to decide who would get control of critical central high ground on Corvus Majoris. Meanwhile, other Eldar forces managed to defeat the Dark Angels and stave off further expansion of the Crusade of Fire. While the Defenders of the Sun have yet to find the Doomsday Device Golden Flag which they are near, the relentless rune forecasting of the Eldar seems to have brought them particularly close to a flag as well.

A vicious dogfight ensues!

Last week’s Force Be With You Friday featured demos of Armada and a raucous dogfight between Imperial and Rebellion forces! The Armada demo was a meeting engagement between Rebel and Imperial forces; while in our dog fight, a unit of rookie rebellion pilots were ambushed by Imperial TIE fighters from the Obsidian order.

Get those brushes moving!

This week saw the first session of our Gaming Squires club. This club is dedicated to helping the next generation of miniature wargamers and toy soldier enthusiasts get a great start in the hobby. Our first session focused on painting basic brushwork, care, and blocking out flat color on your figures.
